The Association of Chinese American Professors (ACAP)

About us

The University of Georgia Association of Chinese American Professors (UGA ACAP; UGA华裔教员协会) was founded in 2021. Membership of UGA ACAP is open to all UGA faculty and staff of Chinese heritage, as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. We also welcome UGA faculty and staff who are interested in Chinese culture or in serving the UGA ACAP community, regardless of race, ethnicity, country of origin, or citizenship, to join our association. Events organized by UGA ACAP are open to the entire UGA community, including faculty, staff, students, and members of other UGA organizations.

The mission of UGA ACAP includes:

• To promote interaction, connection, and collaboration among its members;

• To exchange ideas and experiences on how to thrive at UGA and excel as educators, researchers, and contributors to the broader UGA community;

• To serve as a support network and advocate for its members in ways consistent with UGA’s mission;

• To collaborate with and support other UGA associations and organizations in fostering community engagement and strengthening the One UGA community;

• To facilitate communications, exchange, and collaboration with similar academic and professional associations across the United States;

• To enhance UGA’s visibility and engagement within Chinese and Chinese American communities;

• To enhance understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture within the UGA community while increasing awareness of Chinese American history and contributions to American society;
